Happy Thanksgiving

During this special Holiday Season, we are reminded of how blessed we are to have this little bundle of joy (and at time a big ball of hissy fits- hehe) in our lives. He is truly our little miracle and we are so thankful for him and all of our family and friends that have supported us. We had family in town this week, and it was very hard not making the rounds and seeing everyone, but we just couldn't risk it with Robinson's health. My brothers, sister in law, and parents came to visit- and that was it. And we were still cautious with who was holding him, they brought a shirt to change into to keep outside germs away from the little guy- we are just being very cautious. We did learn that Robinson likes his schedule. With Rian home everyday, we got off our "norm" and it was NOT pleasant! haha....I am looking forward to getting back on track with the little guy and his napping schedule this week.

Here are some pictures from the week-
Taking a "real" tub bath for the first time Friday night
The growth picture from Friday- it's amazing how much he changes each week

The next 2 are from Thanksgiving Day...the onesie was made by Chad's (Rian's brother in law) mother- it was just adorable on Robinson

Robinson went to the doctor this morning and it was a great visit. He weighed 8 pounds 4 ounces and was 19 3/4 inches long! That is a net gain of 3.4 pounds and almost 2 inches in 4 weeks. The doctor was very impressed and said he is progressing great! We get to ween him off of his lasiks over the next month and she gave us the green light to feed him as much as he wants- he likes the food, people! He has great head control and is really starting to interact with us on a daily basis. He did get his 4month vaccines today, and was not a happy camper, but as always handled them like a champ.

This week has been wonderful, because both of my brothers and my sister in law are in town for the Holidays. Obviously, we won't be going anywhere for Thanksgiving due to RSV, and we are very sad to miss out on the family reunion my dad's side of the family has every year at the beach. But we simply can't risk Robinson's health. So, our immediate family is visiting off and on with short visits. We aren't even letting all of them hold Robinson, though- just too much for the little guy right now. Plus, since my brother is in his residency, he is carrying way too many germs from the hospital- he admires his nephew from across the room!

Here are some of the fun presents Uncle James brought

Doesn't that smile just melt your heart??

Friday Growth Picture, plus some extras

Robinson is growing like a weed. We have a Dr's appt. on Tuesday, and I can't wait to see how big he is. I'm sure it's nothing too dramatic, but he just seems to have doubled in size the past couple of weeks. He's also starting to laugh and "cooh" more, plus grab toys that you put in front of him. He still likes to be held ALL of the time, though- you can't blame the little man, he deserves it! :)
Here is his weekly growth picture next to his bear- the bear actually looks smaller!
Close up of the handsome guy

He's so strong...he pushed off the incline wedge in his bed to give himself more room during his nap..."it's all about Robinson"

His onesie says it all- 'Feed Me or Nobody Sleeps!'

Videos and more pictures!

Here are some pictures of the little guy from yesterday. His outfit was so cute that I couldn't resist snapping a few shots, so of course, I had to share them! He's definitely getting more interactive and Rian got on the scale with him this morning and we think that he is between 7.5-8 pounds. BUT that is using our sophisticated technology of holding him on a scale and subtracting our weight- not exactly fool proof...
He recently discovered the ceiling fan!
This is what we call his "Uncle Josh" look
He's looking so grown up
"Okay, enough with the pictures, MOM!"
I love these looks that he gives me!

And here are some videos....this first one is really cute about 2 minutes into it- he starts to get more playful. I just couldn't figure out how to edit it down to 2 minutes- I'll learn all of this tech stuff one day!

This next video is 'tummy time'. The doctors encourage us to put him on his tummy when he's awake, so that he can build the muscles in his neck and back. The idea is to get him to turn from side to side and then he'll eventually be able to hold his head up while on his tummy. As you can see from the video- Robinson is not really a fan of "tummy time", but we have to do it- Doctor's Orders! :)

My 2 Favorite Guys

A lot of time on the carepage and this blog have been dedicated to Robinson, of course. This time I wanted to share the spotlight with another special guy in my life- my husband, Rian. I don't know if I could have gone through all of this without him. He has been my rock; he has never left my side and is always there to encourage or support- whatever I need. He never hesitates to do something I ask- however ridiculous and never left my side in the hospital. He is a wonderful father and takes his turn changing diapers, cleaning spit up and working through fussiness in general. He calls Robinson his "little tiger", because of the way he growls. Everyone has said how strong I've been through Robinson's birth/NICU stay, and I appreciate all of the kind words. However, what was not always noticed was that I was able to be strong, because there was an even stronger man holding my hand.

Here are some pictures of my two favorite guys...

I really think he's starting to look more and more like Rian
He has definitely got his Daddy's blue eyes

This is how you will find them every night about 9:30 pm

And here is the growth picture for this week- Can you believe how big he is getting??

Out of the Preemie Clothes!

Well, it is official. Robinson has graduated to "newborn" size clothes. We are so excited. I feel like he has doubled in size the past week. We don't go to the doctor for another couple of weeks, so I don't have an "official" weight, but when we get on the scale with him, we estimate that he is around 7 pounds now! What a big boy, huh? I went through all of his preemie clothes this weekend and donated them to the NICU for the other babies. We are so grateful to them, that I want to continue to help out in any way that we can. Plus, we want to teach Rob from an early age what a blessing it is to give rather than to receive.

Here are some recent pictures that you can enjoy! :)
You can definitely tell a difference from the picture 2 weeks ago next to the bear

Sweet Boy

Robinson is becoming more alert and more interactive day by day. We are working on trying to get him to stay in his swing, pack n play, or bouncer without screaming after 5 minutes! haha He just loves to be held. But look at how cute he is....be honest- you would want to hold him all day too!

This is the peaceful 5 minutes in the swing
He's getting so big!

I love how you can fold over the sleeves of this onesie- it helps him not scratch his face and it looks so cute!
